"Modeling isn't easy and I think that was the funniest part of all this because not all of them ad experience and as always, thought it was easy. America's Next Top Model can't teach it all but Tyra does make the job easier giving that open window to look in," says creative director of Kicks and Chicks, Rodrick Rainey.
"Discovering new talent is great. When they are this good in front of the camera naturally, it's even greater," said Rainey speaking of what he calls his pulchritudinous superstars.
Preparing for a summer tour that will take them from Boston, Massachusetts and New York City down to West Florida, these ladies have a busy summer ahead of them. At each city, fans that have been generated from various sneaker culture blogs and web sites, along with their www.kicksandchicks.com profiles, will be gathering at specific locations to chat and take pictures with the models, followed by a very sexy fashion show.
"The fashion show will be sexy. Very sexy. I won't go into details, but we guarantee everyone who attends will walk away with a new experience," says Rafael Clinkscales, fashion brand relations manager.
Over 25 clothing brands and 2 sneaker companies have sponsored the Kicks and Chicks project. Multi-million dollar clothing brand executives and founders such as Keith Perrin (founder of Fubu / Keith Perrin Modeling Agency) and Yomi Martin (co-founder of Apple Bottoms) have even actively communicated with Kicks and Chicks project director thanks to Myspace popularity.
Releasing less than 10% of photographs taken to the public via www.KicksAndChicks.com, each model has proven able to take detailed direction and perform some body bending posses without hesitation.
Brands such as 8 and 9 designs of Miami, Florida and Gordon Gartrale Garments have been adamant about the usage of the Rhode island models for their upcoming projects. Major Australian brand Coogi brand has also reached out to Kicks and Chicks for model Taylor Hope, looking to use her as a digital and print model.
Internationally, KicksOMeter.com, a new e-zine for sneaker lovers in Germany, has also put together a deal for the Kicks and Chicks models to be featured in their monthly digital Publication. Receiving hundreds of thousands of views monthly from across Europe, the deal would put these Rhode Island girls on Germany's most famous sneaker web sites under Kicks O Meters new programming deal for site reviews.
